Chris Frederick has been a physical therapist for over 24 years, focusing on a fusion of manual therapy approaches - particularly Stretch to Win Fascial Stretch Therapy® and Kinesis Myofascial Integration – along with exercise and movement prescription. He has an extensive background in dance athletics; both as a professional performer of classical ballet, as well as being a specialist practitioner of dance physical therapy. Chris is also well versed as a practitioner and instructor in the ancient movement and healing arts of tai chi and qigong. More recently he has become a Z-Health® Movement Reeducation Specialist. He enjoys outdoor workouts in the Arizona desert – strenuous hiking, running sprints, scrambling boulders, and pushing-pulling-lifting strange and unwieldy objects.
With his wife Ann, Chris is author of the book “Stretch to Win” and is a contributing writer of the chapter on stretching in the seminal book “Fascia: the human tensional network”. Ann and Chris directed their own highly successful center for Fascial Stretch Therapy, physiotherapy, Kinesis Myofascial Integration, sports massage and Pilates for over 17 years. Co-Director with his wife of the Stretch to Win Institute, Chris is lead instructor of certification training workshops in Fascial Stretch Therapy at www.StretchToWin.com.
Kevin Darby is the director of Stretch To Win-Canada and the director of Darby Training Systems. He is a former athlete and has over 20 years experience in the fitness industry.
The focus of this presentation was to introduce you to how to quickly & easily use the Stretch to Win - Fascial Stretch Therapy® (STW-FST) flexibility system to correct faulty movement patterns in the squat. Then training can progress safely and not get interrupted or slowed down by pain, weakness or imbalances caused by movement restrictions. A consequence of this is better, faster, more complete results with greater confidence gained from both trainer and client.
