The Recreational Sports Journal (RSJ) is the premier scholarly publication for the field of recreational sport administration and the official journal of the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) Foundation. RSJ offers a blend of the latest empirical, theoretical, and applied research on issues and trends of interest to both academics and professionals in the field of campus recreation. Issues have covered such topics as the impact of participation in recreational programs on students’ academic and social success, risk management, leadership, and outdoor and adventure programs.
Paul R. Milton, PhD, associate professor of Sport Management at Ashland University has been a member of the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association since 1976. Milton is a prolific writer and presenter who served on the editorial board of the Recreational Sports Journal for fifteen years prior to becoming its editor in 2004. Milton recently was appointed to another three-year term as editor of the RSJ.
