Jump-start knowledge and retention of anatomy with
Musculoskeletal Anatomy Review. This online tool created by Human Kinetics and Susan Hillman, developer of Primal Pictures'
Interactive Functional Anatomy, is an engaging and easy-to-use interface through which students can gain and retain a solid understanding of musculoskeletal anatomy.
Musculoskeletal Anatomy Review offers a systematic review of musculoskeletal anatomy. Students can self-direct their learning with the option to progress sequentially through the review or visit only those content areas requiring extra attention. Each chapter features a pretest and posttest evaluation to help students pinpoint knowledge gaps and test their retention before, during, and after working through various content areas. Students can take the pretest an unlimited number of times. The pretest is generated randomly so it will never be the same, and the most recent score is retained. Instructors can print out the test results, giving them the option to use the test as a grading tool. Students may take the posttest only one time, and test results may also be printed out.
Content is organized in a traditional, regional approach incorporating for each body region information on bone, muscle, ligaments, nerves, vascular supply, functional abilities and limitations, and clinical applications. Exceptionally detailed, high-quality graphic images—the majority provided by Primal Pictures—present a comprehensive study and review of the subtleties of human anatomy.
Musculoskeletal Anatomy Review also highlights individual anatomical structures to differentiate them among other contributing regional structures.
For manual therapists,
Musculoskeletal Anatomy Review provides a review of range of motion (ROM) and manual muscle testing. Students will see how to perform clinical tests as they review photos and text that provide information on equipment, procedures, and positioning for ROM testing as well as a discussion of the components and specific techniques of manual muscle testing. Muscle tests explained in the resource incorporate images that students can mouse over and click for muscle identification, and special Apply the Concept sections offer scenarios and pose questions to give students a practical example for determining the appropriate manual muscle tests and ROM tests for each scenario presented.
Musculoskeletal Anatomy Review is a unique tool that students can rely on to support their in-class learning and refer to in their professional practice. This resource is an excellent and inexpensive alternative to a full-credit course for anatomy review, and it allows students to work at their own pace and direct their own learning in the areas where most attention is needed.
Musculoskeletal Anatomy Review provides the support that students need to succeed in their anatomy studies.
The purchase price of Musculoskeletal Anatomy Review is for a 1-year online subscription to the content. After your purchase is complete, you may access the content at www.HumanKinetics.com/MusculoskeletalAnatomyReview.
