This supplemental issue of the Journal of Aging and Physical Activity (JAPA) presents research from the 7th World Congress on Aging and Physical Activity, held July 26 to 29, 2008, in Tsukuba, Japan. The theme of the conference was Active Aging: Focus on Longevity and Physical Activity. The abstracts present topics that were discussed at the conference, including adult nutrition, exercise interventions, and physical activity and quality of life in older adults. The issue provides the abstracts of the presentations that were held each day.
JAPA publishes original research articles from contributing authors throughout the world. The articles explore the aging process from psychological, physiological, and sociological perspectives, providing readers with a broader understanding of the multidimensional factors influencing the aging process. Articles found in JAPA examine the development, implementation, and evaluation of physical activity programs among older adults derived from research in biological, behavioral, and social sciences.
