About the Author
A continuing education course for physical education teachers, youth
fitness leaders, personal trainers who work with youths, and coaches.
Shelley Whitlatch, MS, holds a bachelor of science degree in
physical education and a master of science in exercise science. She has
extensive experience teaching physical education and fitness at the
preschool, elementary school, middle school, and college levels as well
as over 20 years of experience in development and instruction of adult
fitness and wellness programs. Shelley is the cofounder of Desert
Southwest Fitness instructor training programs and past chairperson of
the ACE Continuing Education Committee; she is currently the director of
FitCenter, a fitness facility serving special populations.
