Stella Lucia Volpe, PhD, RD, LDN, FACSM, is associate professor and the Miriam Stirl Term endowed chair of nutrition at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, Division of Biobehavioral and Health Sciences. She is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as an exercise specialist and is a registered dietitian. Her research in sport nutrition and obesity prevention spans more than 15 years.
She is a fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine and a member of the American Dietetic Association and the American Society for Nutrition. She won the University Distinguished Teaching Award at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
