How do I purchase an e-book online and download it on my computer?

An e-book can be purchased on the Human Kinetics Web site and then downloaded instantly to your computer. To view the e-book, you must have Adobe Digital Editions software.

1. Ensure that you have Adobe Digital Editions installed. If not, click here.
2. Go to HumanKinetics.com and create an account with the site if you do not already have one. To learn about creating an account, click here.
3. Locate the e-book you want to purchase. If you know the title of the e-book, you can search for it in the top right corner of the home page. If you wish to view all e-books, click By Type in the Browse box that resides in the left column of the home page. Then click eBooks.
4. After locating the desired e-book, click Add to Cart in the right column.
5. Fill in the necessary fields for ordering. If logged in, some of the fields will be pre-filled. Click Place Your Order.
6. Confirm your order details. A shipping method will still be specified even though you are not charged shipping for e-books. Enter your payment information. Click Place Order.
7. The order confirmation screen provides a link at the bottom of the page that will take you to your e-book for downloading. Click the E-books link.
8. Select the book you just purchased and click Download eBook. When prompted, click Open. The book will download to Adobe Digital Editions.

Note that some e-books are part of a larger package that also includes other online resources. This is especially true for textbooks which offer these resources to supplement the learning experience.
