Through the Physical Activity Instruction for Older Adults Certificate Program, you will gain a better understanding of the aging process, predictors of successful aging, psychological and sociocultural aspects of physical activity, and the benefits of an active lifestyle in disease prevention and quality of life.


You will learn how to apply proper screening, assessment, and goal setting techniques for physical activity, as well as how to implement appropriate exercise routines for older adults with diverse functional abilities. Age-specific motor learning principles will also be addressed to help you design effective group or personal training conditioning sessions for older adults.
