Vijay Singh is suing the PGA Tour over doping allegations involving his use of deer antler spray. The suit charges the tour with violating its duty of care and good faith and exposing Singh to public humiliation and ridicule. Singh ultimately was cleared of any wrongdoing.
Singh faces an uphill battle to win his lawsuit against the Tour. At issue isn’t whether or not he used deer antler spray – he admitted in an interview that he did. It just wasn’t until the World Anti-Doping Agency informed the tour that using deer antler spray was no longer prohibited that the PGA dropped their case against him. Singh has made over $67 million since joining the tour in 1993, and at one time, he was one of the sport’s top-earners on and off the course. His sponsors include Srixon, Cleveland Golf, and Traveler’s Insurance.
