Even though sociology of sport courses are often required for students in kinesiology and sport management programs, many students may not understand how studying social issues will help them better relate sport to their lives and future careers. Presented by author Ronald Woods, “Studying sport in society: How to build excitement in your classroom using Social Issues in Sport,” guides instructors through the second edition of his book, Social Issues in Sport. By looking at the features of the text, demonstrating how to incorporate chapter topics into lectures, and relating recent events to lessons in the book, Dr. Woods helps you plan your courses and stimulate interest from your students.
