MLB Signs New Sponsor

Cereal and snack food aficionados can expect to start seeing a lot more MLB logos on grocery store shelves. The league and Kellogg’s announced a multiyear marketing agreement, making the popular cereal and snack maker an official MLB sponsor. To activate the new sponsorship, Kellogg’s will operate a nationwide sweepstakes featuring MLB branding and team logos on supermarket displays and more than 27 million packages of Kellogg’s products. PGA Revenues Hit Record High

The PGA Tour in 2012 posted record revenues of $1.1 billion, up from a previous high of $1.02 billion in 2010. The record numbers come at a time that all 42 events on the Tour’s calendar have a title or presenting sponsor. Vikings/Dolphins Stadium Financing

Revenue projections for the casino games earmarked to partially fund the new Minnesota Vikings stadium continue to fall. The games originally were expected to generate $35 million in taxes this year, but officials now anticipate the games bringing in just $1.7 million. In a surprising move, Pittsburgh Penguins co-owner Ron Burkle had to remove himself from the group bidding to keep the Kings in Sacramento because of his ties to a sports agency. Sacramento vs. Seattle for the Kings

The NBA could rule as soon as this week on the future of the Sacramento Kings. The league’s Finance & Relocation Committee earlier this month heard presentations from two groups interested in buying 65% of the team from the Maloof family.
