LifeSize is a computer program that assists in the analysis and interpretation of anthropometric data. LifeSize is actually four programs in one:
1. A tool that assists in the collection and automates the analysis of anthropometric data
2. A database containing information on norms for body fat, somatotype, and other anthropometric data (height, weight, skinfold, and girth measurements) for the general population and for specific sporting groups
3. A means of storing and retrieving anthropometric profiles on individuals and downloading those profiles for use in other applications or to contribute to the International Anthropometric DataBase (IADBase).
4. An interactive and exploratory educational tool for students of anthropometry. LifeSize is designed for use with the anthropometric profiling system that is consistent with the guidelines of the International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry (ISAK). This anthropometric profiling system consists of a comprehensive series of measurements in skinfold, girth, length, and breadth. Using these measurements, LifeSize enables you to estimate fractional masses (muscle mass, bone mass, fat mass, and residual mass), calculate somatotype, percentage of body fat, a range of indices such as body mass index (BMI), body surface area (BSA), and many other anthropometric values.
