Here are some things to consider when your FG8 will not connect to the SQL Server during installation:
Is this a local SQL Server or remote?
Is the address of the SQL correct?
Can you ping the SQL Server?
Are you running in mixed-mode authentication or Windows authentication?
Do you have the correct SA password?
Is the SA account the database admin still?
