The purpose of this study was to investigate determinants contributing to high level of physical fitness in religious people. Therefore, it is important to determine how Buddhist nuns could maintain good health-related physical fitness compared with sedentary, healthy middle-aged women who live in urban areas. The results showed that Buddhist nuns tended to have higher physical fitness compared with sedentary women.
This study evaluated the effect of a community-based exercise program for sedentary older adults in Korea. As one of the strategies, the Korean National Health Insurance Corporation has been performing 12-week community-based exercise programs for older adults since October 2005. Exercise groups completed one of 26 twelve-week low-intensity aerobic exercise programs at 12 community setting.

This study suggests that the factors examined as determinants of bond mass in this study could not completely explain the loss of BMD with age, since the level of physical activity and diet were not investigated.
