The St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission and the NFL Rams are more than $575 million apart in their plans to renovate the Edward Jones Dome. The CVC proposed a $124 million project with the public subsidy capped at $60 million. It’s unknown whether the Rams want to stay, leave, or take the best offer, but don’t expect an Edward Jones Dome renovation deal anytime soon.
The St. Louis Rams’ plans to play home games in London in each of the next three seasons could be in jeopardy. The St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission said the Rams’ lease requires the team to play all home games at Edward Jones Dome. Rams owner Stan Kroenke also owns the English Premier League club Liverpool, and viewed the London games as a way to grow his NFL team’s brand internationally.
