The judoka in this case may decide to attack with tomoe-nage knowing that an unsuccessful attempt would enable an opportunity to go into ground fighting. For example, you may have developed an attack to the left and right leg of the opponent (leg sweeps or ashi-waza), but you also need to balance with throws so the opponent cannot focus on defending any one single area. For example, if your favorite throw is seoi-nage, numerous combinations can be linked into seoi-nage (for example, okuri-...

The purpose of this study is to compare the present effects of health education performed in Nagano-city and Minowa-town, and discuss planning of future health education programs. However, Nagano city participants improved significantly in the stick reaction compared with Minowa town. Thus, more improvement was seen in the GO/No-Go tasks and the measurement of physical fitness in Minowa town, which added machine-based training once a week (in addition to walking with pedometers and monthly ...
The purpose of this study was to clarify test characteristics of a 20-m Shuttle Run and a 6-min Walk from the perspective of age and physical fitness level. Purpose: In the Japan Fitness Test there is a 20-m shuttle run test (20-m Shuttle Run) for adults (under 65 yr) and a 6-min walk test (6-min Walk) for elderly people (over 65 yr) for measuring cardiorespiratory fitness. Scatterplots and correlation coefficients were used to examine relationships between age and the 20-m Shuttle Run (or ...
Arteriosclerosis is a lifestyle-related disease that is a cause of a cerebrovascular disease, and therefore evaluating a risk of arteriosclerosis was the object of this study. Pulse wave velocity (PWV) and systolic pressure (Sys) were measured in this study with the aim of making an index to evaluate the risk of developing arteriosclerosis. Furthermore, a regression line with each subject’s PWV value and Sys value compared PWV of average systolic pressure (Pas) value was investigated.
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of resistance training on walking ability in middle- and older age adults. Purpose: To determine the effect of resistance training on walking ability in middle- and older age adults. The resistance-training program consisted of 10 training sessions, each consisting of 20-min warm-up (static stretch and moderate walking), 60 min of resistance training with an elastic band and a balance ball, 20 min of recreation, and 10-min cool-down.
The purpose of this study was to clarify how brain function is related to the muscle and to be able to aid future exercise prescription. Up until now, the study of brain function and its relationship with physical and muscle strength has been superficial. The study showed that those with more femoral and quadriceps muscle had a lower number of "forgetting to grip" in the GO/NO-GO tasks and thus the quantity of muscle in the femur and quadriceps closely affected the brain function.
This study investigated relationships among the condition of one’s arteries and one’s cerebral activity by the results of Go/No-Go tasks and physical strength tests. Method: This study investigated relationships among the condition of one’s arteries and one’s cerebral activity by the results of Go/No-Go tasks and physical strength tests. 7 items: grip strength test (GST); sit-ups test; sit and reach flexibility test (SRFT); eyes open, single leg stance test (EOSLT); 10-m obstacle walk test ...
