John Byl, HK author, returns to coaching several years after being struck by a drunk driver while riding his bike. John Byl, PhD, is the author of six Human Kinetics books, Christian Paths to Health and Wellness, Having a Ball, Chicken and Noodle Games, Organizing Successful Tournaments, Third Edition, Co-Ed Recreational Games, and 101 Fun Warm-up and Cool-down Games. Several years ago, Dr. Byl was riding his bike and was struck by a drunk driver.
He’s a professor of education at Redeemer University College in Ancaster, Ontario, Canada, where he teaches the Teaching of Elementary School Health and Physical Education course. The author or coauthor of 10 books on health and games for children, Dr. Byl has been a high school teacher or university professor since 1977.
