US Ski & Snowboard Association

The United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) has adopted the ASEP Professional Coaches Education Program as part of its requirements for becoming a USSA Certified Coach. USSA currently offers Coaching Principles online and classroom courses and Sport First Aid online and classroom courses.

USSA’s Level 100 (Club) Certification Requirements went into effect July 1, 2004. All new and current Club coaches need to successfully complete ASEP Coaching Principles and Sport First Aid courses (available as in-person clinics and online courses), as well as USSA’s Level 100 Alpine Ski Fundamentals Course. Level 100 continuing education credits can be obtained by purchasing the USST: Alpine Ski Fundamentals CD-ROM (http://educationshop.ussa.org) and completing the exercises within it.

The United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) is the national governing body for Olympic skiing and snowboarding. Founded in 1904, the century-old organization provides leadership and direction for tens of thousands of young skiers and snowboarders who share an Olympic dream. As a company, USSA’s management and staff coordinate a nationwide program in seven distinctly different Olympic sports-alpine, cross country, disabled, freestyle, ski jumping, nordic combined, and snowboarding. For more information about USSA, visit www.ussa.org.
