Michigan State University/Institute for the Study of Youth Sports

Through a partnership between the American Sport Education Program (ASEP) and Michigan State University’s (MSU) Institute for the Study of Youth Sports, K-12 faculty-coaches, graduate students, and college coaches can earn continuing education credit by taking ASEP online courses through nationally recognized and respected MSU. Visit the Continuing Education for Coaches store for additional information on this exciting opportunity for coaches!

As a faculty-coach, you need to earn continuing education credits to maintain your teaching certification. Through the arrangement with MSU, you have the opportunity to  take MSU Coaching Principles and MSU Coaching [Sport] Technical and Tactical Skills online courses through the university and earn MSU College of Education and Michigan State Board of Education CEUs—credit you need for recertification and for moving up the pay scale. Plus, the instruction you gain will only help improve your performance as a coach and enhance the sport experience for your athletes.

The Institute for the Study of Youth Sports (ISYS) was founded by the Michigan Legislature in 1978. The mission of ISYS is to provide leadership, conduct scientific research, and engage in service or outreach that transforms the face of youth sports in ways that maximize the beneficial physical, psychological, and social effects of participation for children and youth while minimizing detrimental effects.
