Gary Player heads East for a tour of Asia that will include golf course openings, corporate sponsor outings, golf course design site visits, and culminate with the Gary Player Invitational presented by Coca-Cola in Shanghai. The World’s Most Traveled Athlete is keeping at it as he travels to India, Malaysia, Korea, Japan, Shanghai, Beijing, and then again to Tokyo over three weeks. Representing the continued globalization of the game of golf, ninety percent of Gary Player Design’s active portfolio is outside of North America. India, for example, has surfaced as a prime target for the future of golf. Player next week will open the DLF Golf and Country Club outside Delhi. Corporate outings on Players Asia trip include will take place in Tokyo for SAP and Callaway, Seoul for Verizon, and then again in Japan for Verizon.
