The National Institutes of Health seeks research grant applications on fatigue and fatigability in aging. This opportunity will promote research studies employing transdisciplinary approaches that could lead to increased understanding of mechanisms contributing to, assessment of, or potential interventions for increased fatigue or fatigability in older persons. Both animal models and humans are appropriate for study. Organizations eligible to apply include public- or state-controlled and private institutions of higher education, nonprofits, governments, and other entities.
Awards issued are contingent upon the availability of funds and the submission of a sufficient number of meritorious applications. The total project period may not exceed five years.
Applications will be accepted throughout the year until May 7, 2011. For more information, go to http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PA-08-161.html.
