Richard A. Wiles Jr. is a physical education teacher at Severna Park Elementary in Severna Park, Maryland. He also serves on the Anne Arundel County Public Schools elementary physical education curriculum writing team and Common Core Standards STEM committee and was the primary author of fifth grade and second grade band level assessments for physical education. Rich has presented at numerous conventions on electronic curriculum, teaching physical education with technology, and other topics. He earned a bachelor of science degree in physical education from Salisbury University and is completing a master of education degree in school improvement leadership from Goucher College. Rich is a member of SHAPE America (Society of Health and Physical Educators).
Judith N. Schmid has been an elementary-level physical educator since 1985. Her background includes roles as head coach of a swim team, aquatic director and swim instructor, and continuing education instructor. She has served on the curriculum writing committee for Anne Arundel County Public Schools for four years and was a contributing author of fifth grade and second grade band level assessments for physical education. An award-wining teacher, she earned a bachelor of science degree in physical education and health education from Slippery Rock University and a master of science degree in kinesiology, physical education teacher education from Towson University. She earned National Board certification in 2004. Judy is a member of SHAPE America (Society of Health and Physical Educators).
