Seeking experienced, strategic leader to lead technology group. Ideal candidate will have 5-10 years experience in managing technical groups and the ability to create and implement technical vision for the company. Other requirements include experience with networks, systems, application development and tech support; strong communication skills; excellent people management and mentoring skills; and up-to-date knowledge on emerging technologies.
The Technology Director oversees the flow of projects through the Internal Systems, Network Services, Applications Development, and Technical Support departments as well as the service provided by these departments to external and internal customers. S/he assists the management team by anticipating and planning for future developments in technology and the development of technology systems at HK. The Technology Director directly supervises the Directors of the Network Services, Applications Development, and Technical Support departments, and other members of these departments as needed. Responsibilities include ensuring work deadlines are met, ensuring budgets are met, ensuring quality goals are met for customer service and projects, and monitoring the need for additional staff, equipment, or procedural changes to meet the demands of changing workloads and technology. The Technology Director is ultimately responsible for the timely provision of and the quality of HK technology products, projects, and services.
FUNCTION 1: Ensures products, projects, and internal systems meet quality expectations.
a. Evaluates completed projects and provide feedback to staff.
b. Ensures company infrastructure/technology needs are met with existing systems.
c. Makes adjustments to procedures or systems as needed to address quality problems.
d. Reviews products and systems early in their development to ensure they are on the right track.
FUNCTION 2: Monitor schedules and workload to ensure projects are released on time.
a. Monitors priorities and scheduling of the Network Services, Internal Systems, Application Development, and Technical Support workflow.
b. Ensures staff are clear about project priorities and deadlines.
c. Makes adjustments to procedures or systems as needed to address workflow problems.
d. Monitors testing of products and systems.
FUNCTION 3: Monitors and ensures customer service provided to internal and external customers is high quality and timely
a. Monitors priorities and scheduling of workflow.
b. Ensures staff are clear about service priorities and deadlines.
c. Makes adjustments to procedures or systems as needed to address customer service problems.
FUNCTION 4: Monitors and ensures Technology Group budgets are met.
Works with directors to build preliminary budgets including capital expenditures working with department heads.
FUNCTION 5: Ensures continual improvement in productivity within departments.
a. Develops and implements effective training.
b. Creates or improves systems to increase efficiency.
FUNCTION 6: Increases the skills and knowledge and develop talent of the Technology Group directors.
a. Assesses the effectiveness of coordinators.
b. Provides development opportunities through identifying training and submitting in budget
FUNCTION 7: Informs HK management of changing needs and new opportunities related to systems and technology.
a. Stays informed of industry changes.
b. Stays informed of HK strategic plans.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Technology Director is responsible for supervising the development, management, and maintenance of technology products and systems created by the Technology Group. S/he is also responsible for technical support to internal and external customers provided by Technology Group staff, and the daily supervision of the Technology Group directors and other members of their departments as appropriate. This includes hiring, supervising, training, evaluating, and terminating these positions, as appropriate.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: The Technology Director must have strong communication and leadership skills. S/he must be able to work effectively with supervised staff and all other HK co-workers and others who have dealings with HK. S/he must conduct work in a professional and respectful manner and be able to work independently as well as a member of a team.
COGNITIVE SKILLS: Must be able to analyze information, draw correct conclusions, and effect change when necessary. Must be able to manage and effectively handle multiple priorities. Must be able to assess staff and their strengths/weaknesses.
PHYSICAL SKILLS: The Technology Director must have manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, telephone, copier, or other basic office equipment. S/he should be able to sit for long periods of time. The Technology Director must be able to handle stress effectively, without letting it negatively affect interactions with others in the company.
EDUCATION RETIREMENTS: Degree in information systems/technology or related field, or equivalent experience.

• Excellent analytical and organizational abilities.
