Human Kinetics is excited to announce that on June 1st, the first recipients of the Presidential Youth Fitness Program Funding Opportunity* were announced. At the start of the 2013-2014 school year, 374 schools across the country will have access to the supplemental elements to support implementation of the Presidential Youth Fitness Program. Thanks to the General Mills Foundation, this funding opportunity provides three years of support to access the Fitnessgram® software, virtual training courses for physical educators, and recognition items for students.
Even if your school is not among those funded, don’t worry you can still start the program at no cost next school year. Great resources, such as the Physical Educator Resource Guide, will enable you to properly implement the program and learn effective strategies to promote lifelong health and fitness. Be sure to visit, the program website to learn how you can prepare for next year’s Funding Opportunity: www.presidentialyouthfitnessprogram.org.
*This is a private funding program administered by the AAU, AAHPERD, NFFSN, and The Cooper Institute®, co-sponsors of the PYFP. This is not a government grant program.
