This year on April 7, 2012 the World Health Organization (WHO) held their annual World Health day. Each year the WHO picks a theme that highlights a priority area that concerns the world. This year the World Health Day invited everyone to participate in the awareness of health and ageing. “Good health adds years to life” is a global campaign that creates awareness and opportunity for involvement in the field of health and ageing. The event looked at health data on older adults to better understand their needs. This campaign also looked at the demographics of ageing and the epidemiology of population ageing. Activities included those that address the productivity of older adults and how they can lead full lives and be resources to their own communities.
