The third annual Active Ageing Seminar was held in London on May 2nd. This event, hosted by Vida Wellness and the British Heart Foundation National Centre for Physical Activity and Health, brought together health, fitness and wellness professionals from across the country.
Speakers at the event included Professor Dawn Skelton, of Glasgow Caledonian University, who chose this event as the first time to present the new Functional MOT, an innovative awareness-raising tool. The marketing focus for this year’s event was Branding, kicked off by a superb presentation from Tom Ellis, Innovation Director of Brand Genetics, London. This was complemented by talks about Nordic Walking UK (Gill Stewart told the story of their growth in the UK), and Brain Fitness (Claudine Aherne discussed the concept, new research and how wellness professionals can use this knowledge to increase participation).
It was a great opportunity to shar experiences, challenges and ideas, and make new plans with fellow active ageing professionals.
