In recognition of US Youth Soccer Youth Soccer Month, we’re offering our Go Coach Soccer app for just 99 cents for the month of September.
Teaching key soccer skills and structuring quality practices is now as easy as accessing your favorite hand-held device. The new Go Coach Soccer app from Human Kinetics and the American Sport Education Program (ASEP) offers dozens of video clips and animations that demonstrate more than 50 skills and activities, making it the perfect tool for first-time and less-experienced coaches trying to organize a potentially chaotic practice involving children under the age of 12. Slow-motion video allows coaches to see every detail of the skills and drills being performed.
Go Coach Soccer was developed by the American Sport Education Program (ASEP) and draws content from ASEP’s Coaching Youth Soccer book. The app is highlighted by a Skills feature that provides coaches with instant access to step-by-step instructions for executing numerous attacking, defending, and goalkeeping skills; and an Activities feature that offers instructions for implementing practice skills in those same areas.
Planning and preparation are major keys to success in youth soccer, and Go Coach Soccer makes the tasks simple. The Favorites feature allows you to save skills, drills, and video clips in one central folder-a great tool for planning and organizing activities for your next practice. The Advice feature that addresses the off-field tasks coaches have to perform in order to make practices and games run smoothly. The Rules feature contains basic information on field markings and dimensions, ball size, goal size, and formations. The app also includes guidelines for developing an emergency action plan in the event of an injury or illness, as well as tips for fostering good sportsmanship and creating a fun atmosphere for coaches and players.
As the authoritative app for any on-the-go coach, the assortment of skills and activities featured in Go Coach Soccer combine with supplemental coaching tips and advice, safety guidelines and checklists, and season and practice plan guidance to help manage team activities beyond the Xs and Os. Experienced coaches will also find the app valuable—especially the drill section—as will parents of players wanting to assist their children in practicing skills.
