Mission: To publish quality educational resources, encompassing all fields of physical activity, that strengthen the profession and promote the value of physical activity worldwide.
Human Kinetics has a long history with Canada. As many new disciplines and subdisciplines continue to evolve in the field of physical education, Canadians have remained on the cutting edge of research and promotion of physical activity. As a result, many of them have authored publications with Human Kinetics. Today, more than 130 of our authors, editors, and contributors call Canada home.
Human Kinetics (HK) Canada is actively looking for new ways to serve the physical activity community by forging relationships with professional and academic associations. HK Canada has formal and informal working relationships with dozens of organizations across the country. These relationships range from sharing marketing resources to full fledged publishing relationships that are specific to the Canadian marketplace.
HK Canada was founded in Windsor, Ontario, in 1990 to provide better service to our Canadian customers. As the operation has grown to its current staff of 8 full-time employees and 1 part-time employee, so have its services. Today, those services include sales, marketing, acquisitions, business development, order processing, and inventory services. The staff works out of a new 6,000-square-foot office and warehouse facility in the Walkerville section of Windsor, just a stone's throw from the Detroit River.
