HK Divisions
Eight distinct product divisions make up Human Kinetics:
Aquatics Education Division - The Aquatics Education division houses the Aquatic Education Center, which is the source for aquatic professionals to find resources on lifeguarding and safety, aquatic exercise and fitness, aquatic management and operations, swim instruction, aquatic programming, and more. Among the divisions important partners are Starfish Aquatics Institute, the National Swimming Pool Foundation, the American Safety & Health Institute, the Aquatic Exercise Association, and the World Waterpark Association, the Aquatic Education Center. The division produces books, DVDs, and online courses.

American Sport Education Division - The American Sport Education Program (ASEP) is the leading provider of youth, high school and elite-level sport education programs in the USA. Founded on the the philosophy of "Athletes first, winning second," ASEP's courses and resources are used by local, state, and national sport organizations; 40 state high school associations; and 200 colleges and universities in certifying coaches. For more than 25 years, ASEP has led the way in making sport a safe, successful and enjoyable experience for all involved.

Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Division (HPERD) - The HPERD division is a world leader in the production of top quality products and programs for the fields of health, physical education, recreation, and dance.

Journal Division - The Journal Division is the leading periodical publisher in the physical activity field with more than 20 scholarly and professional journals.

Professional Education Division - The Professional Education division is comprised of a group of unique products and initiatives, all aimed at better serving health and fitness professionals.
Through partnerships with organizations such as the National Athletic Trainers Association, the National Strength and Conditioning Association, the American College of Sports Medicine and others, this division produces a series of print and online courses designed to provide continuing education to professionals working in the field. Active Living Partners is an educational program dedicated to helping adults lead healthier lives. Active Living Every Day and Healthy Eating Every Day, the two cornerstone courses in this program, are evidence based behavior change programs designed in cooperation with The Cooper Institute. The Emergency Care Education Center provides resources for health and fitness professionals to obtain emergency care certification in areas such as first aid, CPR and AED training. The Complete Emergency Care course prepares professionals for the American Safety & Health Institute. This education center also offers the opportunity for park districts, fitness centers or other locations to become emergency care training centers and offer this training to other professionals. Scientific, Technical and Medical Division - The STM division is the leader in publishing textbooks and professional references that meet the needs of scientists, scholars and professionals interested in all dimensions of physical activity and sport.

YMCA Education Division – The YMCA Education division provides two major services to YMCAs in the United States: The YMCA Program Store and Y Life magazine.
