Interview with Marcia Ory, PhD, MPH (excerpt)

Texas A&M professor and director of the school’s Health Promotion and Aging Program reveals what’s breaking ground in the field

Marcia Ory

Marcia Ory is Regents Professor in the Department of Social and Behavioral Health in the School of Rural Public Health at The Texas A&M Health Science Center in College Station. She is also director of the school’s Health Promotion and Aging Program. Before joining Texas A&M, Dr. Ory spent 20 years as the National Institute of Aging’s chief of social science research on aging. Over the past 30 years, she has demonstrated that evidence-based health promotion programs can be successfully translated to both clinical and community settings.
