Extensive studies on balance assessment can be found on pubmed.gov website in journals such as Physical Therapy as well as Jl. of Geriatric Physical Therapy. The Jl. of Geriatric Physical Therapy Vol. 32 ;4 2009, reports a new waist pull perturbation balance assessment method, The Spring Scale Test (SST) which quantifies stepping responses as percent of total body weight, in active independent community residing older adults.
