This course is offered at two of Kwantlen’s Campuses; Langley Campus and Richmond Campus.
Dates or duration of program:
Completion of course will occur after 3 semesters full-time and the equivalent part time. Courses begin September at Langley campus and January at Richmond Campus.
This certificate offers theoretical and practical knowledge of gerontology, therapeutic recreation and recreation and leisure programming that can be applied in the community, parks and recreation for seniors, adult day centres and long-term care settings. This training program is part of the Education, Community, and Health specialties initiative which allows you to study with students in other programs (see the website for more details).
Who should participate?
People who want to work in community health care settings, such as seniors’ centres, assisted living and long term care as a practitioner in therapeutic recreation for seniors. See the website for specific admission requirements.
